The Avalon Art & Yoga Center has scheduled “Off the Wall,” an exhibition of mural artist Morgan Bricca’s new works, through Jan. 8 at the center, 370 S. California Ave., Palo Alto. An artist’s reception is scheduled 8-10 p.m. Saturday.

Bricca, a Los Altos resident, left her traditional medium, murals, to move into the studio to create a new series of paintings, which became the designs for a line of custom-art wallpaper murals.

Murals by Morgan provides solutions for homeowners wondering what to do with large, bare walls. For example, Bricca said she might paint an exterior basement wall with a view of San Francisco Bay so that the view from the basement window looks expansive instead of claustrophobic.

The new custom-art wallpaper mural line is an extension of her custom work. The wallpaper medium enables customers to experience the essence of Bricca’s hand-painted murals at a fraction of the cost, she said.

The wallpaper comes in a variety of textures and substrates for indoor or outdoor applications. It is custom-produced so that the size, crop and material are specific to a client’s needs and locations.

For more than 10 years, Bricca painted murals on varying surfaces, from schools to hospitals and homes.

Bricca said that her job “is to take the seeds of inspiration from the client and transform them into something beautiful they will enjoy for a long time.”
