This mural celebrates the interests of my client, Dick Smith, in his “Man Cave” in San Jose, CA. He has curated an incredibly creative environment with vintage cars, art, games, technology, and collectibles. It is a really cool place to hang out. The whole place was really a work of art. He was on the planning commission of Sunnyvale as well as a lifelong resident, so I included specific historic landmarks, like the Libby’s soup can, his business, his cars, and the famous Spivey’s drive-in (though we renamed it “Dick’s”). It was a very inspiring work environment. When he has the sliding doors to his man cave open, anyone passing by might feel like stilling right in to the street scene of Sunnyvale circa 1968!
